Preparation of Orange Cupcakes:
This recipe is an unusual way to prepare Cupcakes, but if you like the taste of orange and you like to prepare these cupcakes without abusing the sweet taste, it will surely seem like a great recipe. We have prepared it at home more than once and our little ones love it, and it is an ideal way for them to also have some fruit. And the best thing is to prepare them with the children, it is an unforgettable family experience.
As always we recommend the best thing is to prepare all the ingredients previously and before making the dough for the Cupcakes, preheat the oven to about 180ºC (356ºF), and leave the tray ready with its capsules, to pour the dough when it is ready and Bake directly, without waiting, so everything will be faster and more comfortable.
We will start by pouring the sugar and the grated skin of an orange, (be careful not to scratch the white, bitter part) in the glass where we are going to prepare the dough, either with a manual or automatic mixer. Next we are going to incorporate the butter, it must be at room temperature or slightly melted, and we beat all of the above, with patience and until it is well mixed forming a rather yellowish pasty cream.
Finally we are going to add the eggs, better if we add them one by one, beating each one a little so that they are well incorporated into the mixture. Once we finish with the eggs, we will add a little vanilla essence, also the juice squeezed from the orange and continue beating a little more to leave everything as homogeneous as we can.
On the other hand we sift and mix the flour together with the yeast and salt, to avoid lumps. We are going to add the milk to the glass of the mixer and we begin to add the flour little by little, while continuing to beat at low speed to integrate it better into the dough and make it as homogeneous as possible.
Once we have fully prepared the dough that we will use to make our Orange Cupcakes, we are going to fill the molds that we already had prepared. Remember that they should not be completely filled, so that they do not fall out of the mold when they are baked, but we have to cover approximately two thirds of their height, that is enough.
We put the tray with the molds in the oven and leave about 20 minutes, checking that the inside is well done before taking out, and that the outside is golden, we can check if they are made inside by clicking with a toothpick. When removing them, we let them cool off for a few minutes, between 10 and 15 minutes, and then we remove them from the mold and decorate them, each to your liking.
We usually prepare a light orange Buttercream, but you can decorate it as you see fit, the possibilities are very wide, using various toppings or even pieces of orange. On the main page you have a simple recipe to prepare a couple of types of Buttercream that can be perfect for this recipe.
As always, the possibilities are many and varied, so use your imagination to try new recipes.
