How to make cookie monster cupcakes



Cookie Monster Cupcakes Ingredients:

- Black and white fondant
- Buttercream
- Blue dye
- An Oreo cookie or similar
- 165 grams (5½ oz) of baking flour
- 165 grams (5½ oz) of unsalted butter
- 165 grams ((5½ oz)of sugar
- 15 ml (½ oz)of vanilla essence
- 50 ml (1½ oz)of milk
- 5 grams of yeast
- 3 medium eggs

Preparation of Cookie Monster Cupcakes:


We are going to start preparing the base of these Cookie Monster Cupcakes. For them we are going to put the sugar and butter in the glass or container where we are going to prepare the dough, and put the mixer at slow speed. When we see the creamy mixture we stop stirring.

The next thing that we will pour into the glass are the eggs, which we will have beaten a little earlier, and we start the mixer again a few minutes, until we get a homogeneous mass.

Then we will add the flour and yeast, previously sifted, together with the vanilla essence, and we will let it mix for a few minutes at slow-medium speed.

We pour the milk without stopping stirring until the dough is soft and pliable, it does not stick to the rods. 

We take a tray where we will bake the Cupcakes, we will place the papers for them and fill with the dough obtained about two thirds of them. We can use one of these spoon to scoop ice cream balls, to pour more or less the same amount in each hole.

In the preheated oven, place the pan at 180ºC (356ºF) and bake for about 20 minutes or so. We use bottom and top heat and no fan, for a better result. Before removing the tray, we recommend you click on the Cupcakes to see if they are raw inside, in which you would almost have to check again after a few minutes.

When they are ready, we take them out, let them cool down a bit and then unmold them.


With the bases ready, we proceed to prepare the decoration of the Cookie Monster. You start by preparing a pair of small black balls of the same size with the black fondant, which will be the eyes of the character. We make two larger balls with white fondant and glue the black balls, with the help of a little water to glue them, and we already have our eyes done.

The next thing is to fill the pastry bag with blue buttercream. If you do not know how to prepare the buttercream, on the main page we explain the process, you just have to add the blue food coloring.

We recommend using a Wilton nozzle number 233, to create the effect of the hair of the Cookie Monster. It is achieved by making grated strips of cream. We recommend that you make short strips in the same direction until the Cupcake is well covered.

Finally part the Oreo cookie or another one that you like and place it as if it were the Monster's mouth. On top we put the two eyes that we have prepared with fondant, and we have already finished our wonderful Cupcakes of the Monster of Cookies.
